Noemi Krausová Bachelor thesis Czechoslovak Diplomacy and Israel in 1948 - 1967 2015 Abstract This bachelor thesis focuses on the development of Czechoslovak-Israeli diplomatic relations from 1948 until 1967. Czechoslovakia supported the Jewish community in Palestine in the first years after the Second World War and was promoting the idea of a Jewish state. The friendly attitude on the part of Czechoslovakia was not altered after the communist coup in 1948. Czechoslovakia became the only state to support Israel, by supplying arms, during the War of Independence of 1948/49. Since 1950, however, the Czechoslovak attitude towards Israel began to change under the Soviet influence which was clearly dominant in the internal as well as external policies of the communist regime in Prague. The relations with Israel gradually deteriorated after 1950 as Zionism was declared as an enemy by the communist power. The anti-Zionism of the regime became most pronounced during the political trial against the former General Secretary of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia, Rudolf Slánský, as well as against other - mostly Jewish - party officials in 1952. Anti-high prices and social unrest in the Brandýs nad Labem district after the First World War

The bachelor thesis focuses on the development of the labor movement in the Brandýs nad Labem district after the First World War in 1919-1921 and ends with the establishment of the district Communist Party. Its aim is to describe the social unrest that took place in the district after the First World War. The first chapter describes the development of the labor movement throughout the Czechoslovakia from the end of the war through the hunger and anti-poverty riots to the struggle in the CSDSD, the occupation of the People's House, the General Strike of December and the founding of the Communist Party. The second chapter presents the development of the economy in the various towns of the district, which consisted mainly of the chemical and metalworking industries and agriculture. The third chapter describes the beginnings and development of the labour movement from the mid-19th century to the emergence of the Czechoslovakia from a regional perspective. The fourth chapter focuses on the actual anti-labour riots, strikes, demonstrations and the reactions of the administration to them. The fifth chapter analyses aspects of these events in the Brandýs nad Labem district.
The fate of Zdeněk Fierlinger after the February Coup

This bachelor thesis is focused on Zdeněk Fierlinger and his life and is divided into two parts. The first part of the thesis focuses on his youth, work in the diplomatic services, servis to legions, fate during the Second World War and shortly after it. The first part of the thesis is about important events in the life of Zdeněk Fierlinger, due to which he was directed to the services of the communists in Czechoslovakia, enforced in February 1948. The second part of the thesis deals with the life of Zdeněk Fierlinger after 1948. This main section is focused on his overall political activity in high party positions, and above all on Zdeněk Fierlinger's contribution to building the communist regime. It is based on source research, selected professional literature and additional sources, which are mainly oral history interviews, contemporary press, university theses and internet sources. The aim of the work is therefore to comprehensively process the life of Zdeněk Fierlinger, focusing on the events that shaped his legacy today, i.e. especially on the events after 1948. Politics of the Communist Party and its effect on the pupil's transfer from elementary to secondary schools- autogiographical narratives

Jana Eliášová Abstract and key words This thesis deals with the influence the pupil's transition from elementary school to secondary school in the communist regime era, i.e. in 1948-1989. The methodology is based on the interviews provided by the method of oral history, archival records and professional literature. Furthermore, the work deals with the functioning of the education at the time of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia, focusing on the elementary and secondary schools. The pivotal part of the work is based on the oral historical field research, especially from the personal experience of witnesses. For this work provided their memories eleven witnesses (10 women, 1 man), who, at their youthful age, experienced either a complete ban on studies at the high school, or their onset at the high school was complicated, due to the improper assessment from the school or the politically improper parentage. The thesis intends to reveal the ways influencing the pupil's studies or bans, the reasons and impacts of this experience on further lives of witnesses. Media image of the Soviet Union in selected Communist and Christian Democratic weeklies during the Third Czechoslovak Republic

Media image of the Soviet Union in selected Communist and Christian Democratic weeklies during the Third Czechoslovak Republic The paper deals with selected aspects of the media image of the Soviet Union during the Third Czechoslovak Republic. Its aim is to analyze the mechanisms of media image construction in two journals of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia and in two weeklies of the Czechoslovak People's Party. Partial aim represents an effort to compare the resemblance of discourse of the USSR between Communist and Christian Democratic journals and then effort to capture eventual changes of the discourse image during the analyzed period. To achieve the objective we use method of critical discourse analysis inspired by the design from the pen of J. P. Gee. The first part presents historiographical outline of specific socio-political conditions of the Third Republic. Second, theoretical and methodological chapter provides an overview of the conceptual framework embedding that is used for the text analysis. The research part identifies that some discursive aspects of the image of the USSR in Communist and Christian Democratic conception seem to be diversifying over time, others are different from the outset.
Foreign art exhibitions in Prague 1945 -1953

The thesis will focus on the foreign exhibitions in Prague at prague associations and art galleries betwen yers 1945 - 1953. The heading of every one of chronologicaly sorted chapters will contain a brief insight into the political and cultural situation of Czechoslovakia, which should help the reader to grasp the whole context. The theoretical articles from relevant period will illustrate the shift from "formalism" to socialistic realism as well as types of exhibitions, their historical context and feedback they got from the czechoslovakian artistic community.
KSČ and political development in the district of Teplice-Šanov between 1945 and 1948

In the bachelor thesis I focus on the study of activities of KSČ in the district of Teplice-Šanov in period between years 1945 and 1948. The basis of my work comprise study of sources and literature. I concentrate my interest particularly on following thematic fields: organizational activity, personnel administration and acting in bodies of local selfgovernment (ONV Teplice- Šanov). Naturally I touch activities of other political parties with whom Communists clashed when they aimed to reach their goals.
